truSculpt flex

truSculpt® flex is a non-invasive body treatment cleared by the FDA, that uses Multi-Directional Stimulation to target muscles or muscle groups. The treatment can be customized based on the patient’s body shape, goals and fitness level. The goal of the treatment is to tone and shape muscle groups. This can help patients get to the next level in fitness goals, beyond what they can accomplish in the gym or by working out.

  • truSculpt® flex technology is unique, in that it replicates different aspects of a workout with 3 treatment modes. Within a session, there is a prep mode for warming up and stretching the muscles, a tone mode for holding the muscle in contractions to increase strength and endurance, and a sculpt mode with faster and deeper contractions to build mass and sculpt. This targeted technology is more popular than others on the market because it can create more enhanced results with a precise system. Other technologies may contract the muscles, but without a targeted system.

  • Prior to your treatment, you will have a consultation to determine the best truSculpt® protocol to meet your goals. At the first treatment, you will have pictures and measurements taken to establish a baseline. The treatment doesn’t take long, depending on how many areas are treated. This treatment is not painful, but can be a little uncomfortable. Your body will adjust to the sensation. There could be some muscle soreness post treatment, similar to that of a workout, but generally it’s very mild.

  • There are no major side effects of truSculpt® flex. There may be some mild soreness in the areas treated, but there shouldn’t be any irritations to the skin. This treatment is very safe and effective, as it is non-invasive.

  • Compared to other similar devices on the market, truSculpt® flex is unique in that, it can target specific muscles and muscle groups; and can treat up to 8 areas in one session. truSculpt® flex is cleared by the FDA to strengthen, firm and tone the abdominal, buttocks and thigh muscles. Competitors that use other technologies, such as electromagnetic stimulation, are placing that magnetic field over an entire area and activating peripheral nerves to contract the muscles. truSculpt® flex uses electrical stimulation and their proprietary Multi Directional Stimulation (MDS) with the placement of smaller individual handpieces throughout the treatment area, for a more targeted approach. This results in a more customized treatment. The results of the treatment can be long-lasting, but similar to working out, if muscle is not maintained, results can be diminished over time. Maintenance treatments are recommended and a package can be designed to meet individual needs.

  • An ideal candidate for truSculpt® flex, is someone that has body fat within a normal range and lives an active lifestyle, ideally including exercise. Even with consistent exercise, there can be areas where we would like to see more results. truSculpt® flex will take muscle sculpting to the next level, beyond working out. Individuals who may be carrying extra weight could still receive these types of body treatments, but may not see the same results. Those individuals could still benefit though, as fat reduction in the area is a side effect to this treatment, and they could still have increased muscle strength. A realistic expectation must be set for each individual.

TruSculpt iD uses radiofrequency to heat the entire fat layer, resulting in an average of 24% fat reduction over a 12-week period after just one treatment! In addition to fat reduction, the radiofrequency can have a skin tightening effect to help with crepiness on the skin.

  • truSculpt iD by Cutera is a non-invasive, monopolar radiofrequency device that targets the fat layer with heat. Radiofrequency is a very successful method of energy used to kill fat and tighten skin. It is becoming more popular than other treatments because the results are more consistent than other technologies, there is no downtime, and the treatment is more tolerable and safer than others on the market. The treatment can be performed on the areas of the torso, such as the abdomen and flanks, areas of the arms and legs, and under the chin.

  • The truSculpt iD treatment takes approximately 15 minutes to perform per area. The booking time for the treatment; including pictures, measurements, and set up, is about an hour. The treatment is not painful, patients may just experience a slight heat sensation in the treatment area. To prepare for the treatment, patients should make sure to come in with a clean treatment area, shaven if necessary, with no lotions or self-tanning agents applied. As usual, proper communication prior, during, and post treatment will help prevent unwanted side effects. After the treatment, it is normal to have redness for a day or two, and the area may feel bruised or tender for several days. Avoid heat or vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours post treatment, according to the instructions of your provider.

  • Certain things are contraindicated for this treatment, such as certain types of metal in the treatment area and some health conditions. This will be discussed prior to treatment. During the treatment, the practitioner will communicate about the heat and the patient’s comfort level, which helps to prevent adverse effects, in addition to following proper post treatment instructions. The treatment does not have a high risk of complications.

  • Cool Sculpting is a fat-freezing technology that has been popular in the past, however the application process of pinching or squeezing the fat while freezing it can leave undulations or waviness in the treatment area. With truSculpt iD, the radiofrequency creates heat which radiates out from the handpiece, creating more feathering or tapering of heat. With this application, there are no hard borders to the treatment area. At Charme Wellness, we researched all current fat reduction body treatments on the market, and decided that truSculpt iD was the best choice for our patients.   • An ideal candidate for body contouring is someone who is maintaining their weight and just has certain trouble areas to address. Individuals who have body fat in a normal range and are not considered to be overweight, but have an area of unwanted fat, will see most noticeable results with these treatments. Patients who struggle with weight gain and have difficulties from underlying conditions such as thyroid issues, would be less likely to benefit and see results. If weight is maintained this can be a great added benefit in fat reduction.
