Charmé Men – VI Peel
The VI Peel is one of many non-invasive anti-aging treatments we offer our Charme Men. The many results of this treatment include removing acne and acne scars, repairing sun damage, and improving overall skin tone and texture. Your skin will look more youthful and although YOU will notice the results, they are very subtle.

The original VI Peel has a combination of effective ingredients including TCA, Salicylic acid, Phenol, Vitamin C and Retinoic Acid. The original VI Peel is great for all patients looking for a refresher that have less targeted skin care goals. For clients who are targeting specific conditions, there are the Purify and Precision Plus options. When upgrading to the VI Purify for acne, there are additional ingredients, such as benzoyl peroxide added to assist in clearing the skin by killing acne bacteria and salicylic acid, which reduces bacteria and oil in the pores. If upgrading to the VI Precision Plus for pigment, like sun damage or melasma, there is a booster that can be added to the VI Peel. The booster includes a lightener and brightener with ingredients such as Kojic acid and Hydroquinone. Combining the VI Purify for acne with Precision Plus for pigment is a great treatment for patients struggling with breakouts and the pigmented marks left behind. VI Peels can be done on the face, neck, chest and back.
-
Prior to the VI Peel, the skin will be assessed to determine how to customize your peel. The application process is simple and takes less than 15 minutes. The skin is cleansed and prepped with a solution to remove oil and allow the peel to penetrate more deeply. The peel is applied avoiding the sensitive areas around the eyes, nose and corners of the mouth. There is a numbing agent in the peel that works quickly to make the process more comfortable. The peel is self-neutralizing and the patient leaves with the peel still on the skin which may have a slight tint. The post care instructions are very important to the process and the result of the peel relies on the patient being compliant. The patient is sent home with multiple peel pads that are to be applied to the skin at specific times, all listed in the post care instructions. The peel pads act as a catalyst to the peeling process. In the first few days there is generally no peeling. Typically the peeling starts 2-3 days after it’s applied and will peel for another 3-4 days. The peel process from start to finish takes about 1 week. There can be mild discomfort and itching, but in general, it’s painless and easy to tolerate.
-
The VI Peel is safe for all skin types and most skin conditions. Reactions and adverse effects are rare and can be avoided with proper communication on allergies or sensitivities, and if proper post care is followed. The use of Hydrocortisone cream in the post care process is helpful to reduce skin irritations.
-
The VI Peel can benefit all skin types and all ages. The different peel variations can treat specific skin care conditions, such as melasma or pigment concerns, acne and marks left by acne, as well as improve the signs of aging. The results can last indefinitely, however, the skin is always aging and there are environmental factors, like sun exposure that are a factor as well.
-
The VI Peel is an amazing option for most patients who are looking to refresh and rejuvenate the skin with a non-invasive procedure.
-
Our skin experts here at Charme Wellness are highly experienced in chemical peels and have used the VI Peel brand many times. We provide safe and effective treatments, and pride ourselves on communicating proper pre and post treatment instructions for optimal results.

Photobiomodulation was researched back in the 1960’s mainly for wound healing and was shown to produce changes in cells and tissue. Light therapies were derived from that research and have become increasingly popular in the esthetics industry.
LED light therapy is light emitting diode therapy used in facial treatments and post laser treatments to promote anti-aging and reduce acne or inflammation. The two most popular LED lights used are red and blue, however there are many colors of light used including white, purple, and amber. Red LED targets the epidermis and is best for anti-aging and stimulating collagen. It can also reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote healing; therefore, it is an amazing treatment to have when healing from bigger esthetic procedures such as ablative lasers. Blue LED targets and calms overactive sebaceous or oil glands, as well as kills bacteria, which helps reduce acne breakouts. The combination of red and blue LED together can be a successful treatment for acne. This would be purple light when combining both wavelengths or alternating red and blue. White LED has the longest wavelength; therefore it penetrates the deepest. It works to tighten, tone, and heal skin and reduce inflammation. Amber LED helps reduce redness in the skin (Rosacea as well). It is calming and soothing. It flushes waste from the skin, boosts lymphatic flow and increases cellular growth.
-
Before any facial treatments, always communicate any sensitivities or allergies to your Esthetician, as well as what products you have recently used. Adding the LED light treatment to the facial you choose will be a relaxing addition that will leave your skin glowing. You will lay under the light for approximately 20 minutes within the facial time (typically near the end, after all of the amazing products, serums and masques have been applied). This really drives those ingredients down deeper into the skin on a cellular level. You will see an improvement in your skin almost immediately. For a few days after your facial, it is usually recommended that you use gentle products. After a few days you can return to your normal regime. LED can also be used post laser treatments to promote healing and boost collagen.
-
Side effects from LED treatments are very rare. If there were any sensitivity to the treatment, it could be redness or rash, but it is very uncommon for that to occur and most likely would be due to a product reaction more so than the light treatment. As always, good communication with your provider is essential for a positive outcome. This treatment is very safe when performed in office, and it is a wonderful addition to your facial or laser treatment. LED lights are completely safe, as they do not contain UV rays. We do not recommend at home treatments, as the efficacy of the device would be in question.
-
The most known benefits to LED treatments are healing, stimulating collagen, reducing inflammation and acne breakouts. Generally LED treatments are most effective in a series.
-
LED treatments are safe for all skin types and can help most skin conditions.
-
Our Charme Wellness experts have extensive experience with using LED treatments in combination with facials and lasers. We provide the highest quality combination treatments to suit your needs. We pride ourselves on educating our patients and customizing protocols that will help you meet your goals.

DiamondGlow™ is a facial treatment that exfoliates the skin, helps to extract impurities from the pores, and infuses treatment serums into the deeper layers of the skin. The treatment is very popular, because it can immediately re-volumize and plump the skin; and leave it smooth and glowing. This treatment is performed mainly on the face and neck, yet there is a body treatment tip as well, that is mostly used on the back or chest. The treatments, when done in a series, can help to improve the appearance of sun damage and brown spots, large pores, reduce breakouts, and rehydrate the skin with the various serums available. This is a more successful method of exfoliation than microdermabrasion, with the added benefits of infusing the serums to treat the skin, which microdermabrasion does not provide.
-
The most prominent difference between DiamondGlow™ and Hydrafacial is the exfoliating tip and suction. DiamondGlow™ uses medical grade technology, which includes a diamond tip and pneumatic vacuum. Those technologies combined create an amazing exfoliation and infusion.
Hydrafacial uses a plastic tip which is not medical grade. While Hydrafacial is still a great treatment, it is not medical grade.
-
A DiamondGlow™ treatment is fairly relaxing. The exfoliating tip can feel mildly scratchy on the skin, but the serums help the exfoliating tip glide gently. The practitioner will choose a serum that is suitable for specific skin conditions. Immediately after treatment, the skin complexion will appear brighter, and the skin will feel softer and more hydrated. With a series of treatments over a few months, there will be noticeable and more marked improvement in the skin and an overall healthier glow. Prior to treatment, it is recommended to discontinue retinoids or other exfoliating products for 5 days, and after the treatment gentle products are recommended for at least 2 days. Pre and post care will be discussed at the time of the visit.
-
There are no major risks or side effects with this treatment. There is a small risk of over-exfoliating the skin, but generally that only happens if other exfoliation has been done prior to the treatment, or if retinoids or acids were used prior. If the suction is higher and someone is at risk for bruising, there is a possibility of small broken capillaries, but this is rare. With proper communication, these issues generally do not occur.
-
DiamondGlow™ can help improve the tone and texture of the skin. It can help reduce redness, plump and hydrate the skin (which improves the appearance of acne scarring and fine lines and wrinkles), reduce oil and acne breakouts through pore cleansing, and help fade brown spots or sun damage. By simply exfoliating the skin, there is immediate brightening and improvements, and products can penetrate more effectively when surface dead skin cells are removed.
-
Most patients are a candidate for DiamondGlow™, although those with severe rosacea or inflamed skin may not be good candidates for the treatment until the skin is in a calmer state.

Our skin experts have extensive experience working with this technology on all skin types and conditions. Our experience sets us apart from other medical spas. We can provide the best treatment for your skin and use combined modalities to further results.
